GAS SAFETY CERTIFICATE

Gas Safety Checks

By Law, all UK landlords must have their gas appliances checked every year – but if you are a homeowner, its still highly recommended that you follow this advise. Unchecked boilers can leak carbon monoxide, a potentially fatal gas that is hard to detect due to lack of coloyr and odour.

A gas safety check must only be conducted by a Gas Safe registered engineer and consist of the following

  • Check of all settings, including operating pressure and burning rates
  • Ensure that harmful gases produced as a by-product of the heating system are being removed via the flue and safely passed into the air outside the property.
  • Check that ventilation routes are clear and working correctly.
  • Ensure that all safety functions are working
  • A general “healthcheck” and indentification of any necessary repairs to endure that any foreseeable issues are contained.
